Tenggol Resort is located along the beautiful shoreline of Pulau Tenggol. To be exact, the resort on the southern side of Teluk Air Tawar.
Boat journey from Kuala Dungun takes about 45 minutes on a speed boat or close to two hours on a slow fishing boat.
There are nine room units available at Tenggol Resort. Each room is equipped with fan and attached bathroom. Four room units are located at the back of the resort in the form of a longhouse. Another five units are styled in individual hill chalets overlooking the green foliage as well as the ocean. These hill chalets seem to appeal more to me as they are built in exquisite village-style houses with acceptably cooling effects from the lush greenery.
The resort hosts a simple dining outlet where daily meals of breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. A new NAUI dive centre is currently under construction adjacent to the restaurant. At the moment, diving equipment are stored rather haphazardly in the restaurant and the main lawn. The dive centre is operated Scuba Explorers which has a main office in Seremban.
The resort is fronting the white sandy beach of Teluk Air Tawar, which I find to be extremely beautiful. There is a host of activities that can be done on the beach, such as snorkeling, swimming and sunbathing. Round-the-island snorkeling trips can also be arranged by the resort.
Pulau Tenggol hosts a great selection of dive sites. During my visit, I did two dive trips at Tokong Timur and Tanjung Api.
There are two main packages offered by the resort. On twin-sharing basis, 3D2N Non-Diving Package costs RM350 per person while 3D2N Diving Package costs RM650 per person. The 3D2N Diving Package is inclusive of 5 boat dives without equipment rental. Items such as BCD, regulator, mask, snorkel, etc are available for daily rental at predetermined rate. Otherwise, full set of diving equipment can be rented for RM100 per day.
All packages are inclusive of return boat transfer and daily meals.
