DESCRIPTION:
Mediocre from outside, plush on the inside. The resort looks pretty basic at first, but I find the rooms are nicely done with solid wood, comfy single beds and functioning air-conditioner. The resort overlooks Pantai Bakau, which should not be mistaken with Pantai Pasir Kalong, which is a different one.

FACILITIES:
There are 38 rooms here of standard and seaview types, most of excellent condition, air-conditioner, attached bathroom with hot shower, a dive centre, dining area overlooking the beach equipped with satellite TV.

ATTRACTIONS:
You may want to avoid Bakau Beach which is fronting the resort. It looks unappetizing to me. Walk along the beach and ask anyone if they could bring you to Pasir Kalong Beach by boat. I got my boat ride for RM20.

Pasir Kalong Beach is one of the BEST beaches I have ever seen in my entire life! The water is superbly crystal clear with amazing visibility to the bottom and with the softest sand at the beach. There were traces of corals but people would go here to enjoy the swimming-pool-quality beach.

Otherwise, there is a clearly-marked walking path through the bushes that will bring you to the more popular Pasir Panjang Beach.

PRICING:
3D2N fullboard package starts at RM340 per person based on twin-sharing basis. If you are a diver, you can get the 2D1N diving package for RM320 per person which includes 2 dives (3D2N, RM530 per person, 5 dives). If you are staying for 2 nights, one dinner will be replaced by a BBQ session by the beach.

Redang Kalong is accessible from Merang Jetty. Boat usually departs at 0930hrs and 1315hrs.
