DESCRIPTION:
The resort is located right in the middle section of Pasir Panjang Besar, neighbouring Redang Pelangi Resort and Desagreen Redang Beach Resort (currently under construction). Boats will depart from Merang Jetty at 0930hrs or 1030hrs, depending on the tide. Journey takes about 45 minutes (or could be faster if the resort employs a more powerful boat, unlike what I experienced during my trip).

FACILITIES:
In total, there are 41 units available at the resort. The breakdown: 12 Standard room (in a modern two-storey building), 22 semi-detached units, 6 detached units (or more like a small-sized bungalow) and 1 Suite. All rooms are equipped with air conditioner, ceiling fan, attached bathroom, hot shower encased in glassy enclosure, electronic safety box, etc.

I stayed in a Standard room (all I can afford *smile*) which is quite good in term of its internal fittings. I was quite impressed with the glassy shower. The verandah is quite huge, and seating chairs are provided to enjoy the view of the greenery as well as the swimming pool.

As for the F&B outlets, Coral Redang Resort boasts two of them: Matahari Restaurant where daily buffet and a la cartè spreads (breakfast, lunch, dinner) are served, as well as the funky Chicak Poolside Bar where great beverages are served throughout the day while enjoying the ocean or pool view.

Activities are plenty to be offered here, such as swimming at the pool (very under-utilised because patrons prefer the clear waters of the beach fronting the resort itself), daily diving and snorkeling trips conducted by the resort's dive centre, etc. A number of beach chairs are provided for sun-seekers to bask on the beautiful beach.

ATTRACTIONS:
The resort is fronting the beautiful beach of Pasir Panjang Besar. A short walk to the right will bring you to Pasir Panjang Kecil which is equally mesmerizing, if not more spectacular when it comes to scenic beach views and powdery soft sands.

A boat trip can also be arranged to visit the Marine Park Jetty at Pulau Pinang, where good snorkeling can be done, or Pasir Kalong Beach for a relaxing time under the tropical sun.

There are plenty of snorkeling options near the resort too. You can try snorkeling at Tanjung Tengah, which separates Pasir Panjang Kecil with Pasir Panjang Besar, or at Tanjung Mak Cantik fronting Redang Reef Resort. A decent snorkeling trip can also be arranged to either Pulau Paku Besar or Paku Kecil by boat.

During my stay here, I also embarked on two diving trips to Pulau Paku Kecil and Pulau Kerengga, both are a few minutes from the resort.

PRICING:
A regular 3D2N package in a standard room will cost RM540 per person, based on twin-sharing basis. The package will include return boat transfer from Merang Jetty, daily meals at Matahari Restaurant, two snorkeling trips, etc. The rate definitely goes higher for 3D2N scuba diving package or if you wish to stay in higher-priced rooms (semi-detached, detached or Suite).

I opted for the room-only package which I paid RM305 per night inclusive of breakfast for two persons. If you decide to opt for room-only package, you will need to pay RM80 for the round-trip boat transfer from Merang Jetty.

MY RATING:
