DESCRIPTION:
The resort is located on Teluk Dalam, which is a long crescent-shaped beach to the south of Perhentian Besar. Journey from Kuala Besut jetty takes about 45 minutes on speed boats.

Overall, Fauna Beach Chalet offers very basic types of accommodation, save it for a few special units that are equipped with air-conditioners. One should not expect much from staying here, except plenty of sunshine by the powdery beach of Teluk Dalam, as well as a hive of beach activities all day long such as football, volleyball, kayaking, snorkeling, etc.

FACILITIES:
There are 5 types of rooms offered at this resort. Deluxe Family units are the most expensive ones and are equipped with air-conditioners, attached bathrooms and sufficient beds for the family. Standard Sea View units are also equipped with air-conditioners and double beds. Other than that, these types are only equipped with fans: Family units, Bungalow Sea View units and Standard units. Each room is sparsely arranged from each other, creating some sort of kampong-style living with shared gardens and walking paths.

The resort has one small restaurant which should be enough to cater for bare necessities. Otherwise, the beach of Teluk Dalam hosts a number of other restaurants for you to choose from to satiate your gastronomic needs.

ATTRACTIONS:
Fronting the resort is the beach of Teluk Dalam. To me, the beach is not particularly nice as compared to the beach on Teluk Pauh. Nonetheless, the beach is extremely long with most parts are covered with soft powdery sands (but some parts are just rocky with coral debris). You can also snorkel at this beach, though my snorkeling excursion wasn't of anything worth mentioning.

As for diving, many dive boats will depart to Tokong Laut (or Temple Sea Mount) early in the morning. There are other dive sites close to Teluk Dalam, such as Shark's Point and Terumbu Tiga (Tiger Rocks). This resort also owns an in-house dive centre to cater for all your diving needs.

PRICING:
Deluxe Family with air-conditioner goes for RM170 per night, Standard Sea View (RM140 per night), Family with fan (RM85 per night), Bungalow Sea View with fan (RM65 per night), and Standard with fan (RM50 per night). Boat transfer from Kuala Besut to Teluk Dalam will cost RM30 per way.
