DESCRIPTION: An above-average resort judging from the price. Location is very strategic, near the beautiful beach of Teluk Pauh, which to me is the best beach on the island.
FACILITIES: Standard, deluxe, and superior rooms, some are equipped with fans, some do have century-old air-conditioners and hot showers (the water comes from underground source, so don't be surprised if it tastes "earthly"),
There is a nice restaurant overlooking the two nearby beaches. A beach volleyball court is available and is quite popular with locals and tourists. Mobile networks such as Celcom and Maxis are also available.
ATTRACTIONS: A short walk away is the island's best beach, Teluk Pauh. You will see the hive of beach activities at Teluk Pauh, such as snorkeling, sunbathing and swimming.
I have snorkeled at this beach and thought it was one of the best snorkeling sites on the island.
PRICING: I paid RM190 per night for a deluxe chalet with air-conditioner and hot shower. You will need to RM80 for round trip boat from Kuala Besut jetty if you opt for room-only package like I did. There are plenty of restaurants and cafe by the beach side, hence food should not be a problem.
The jetty at Kuala Besut is a little out of the way from Kuala Terengganu, some 80 km north. Kota Bharu is about 60 km away. Both of these cities are served frequently by AirAsia (AK) and Malaysia Airlines (MH). We took a van that cost us RM20 one way to Kuala Besut jetty from Kuala Terengganu. MY RATING: |
