DESCRIPTION:
A trendy resort which failed to live up to my expectation. Situated at the northern end of Long Beach (or locally known as Pantai Pasir Panjang) of Perhentian Kecil, reputed to be the island's best beach. A 2-minutes swim away lies the decent house reef which is suitable for snorkeling.

FACILITIES:
All rooms come with air-conditioner, balcony, hot water, no TV and no telephone but most mobile networks are available here (Celcom and Maxis), a beach bar, a dive center, a nice beach volleyball court, dining huts, etc.

After sunset,  the resort hosts daily night shows such as Hula dance and fire dance at the beach pub.

ATTRACTIONS:
The house reef fronting the resort is excellent for a first timer, but it may get too deep and visibility would become poor.

Most parts of the beach are free from coral reef, hence offering good swimming. Ask the resort people if anyone would bring you for a 30-min jungle trekking to the other side of the island facing west where you could see the sunset.

PRICING:
About RM350 for 3D/2N per person during a special offer period. I think it is slightly higher now. Package includes boat transfer from Kuala Besut jetty, 3 meals per day, 2 snorkeling trips, BBQ night, triple/quad sharing room. You will have to rent for snorkeling gears.

The jetty at Kuala Besut is a little out of the way from Kuala Terengganu, some 80 km north. Kota Bharu is about 60 km away. Both of these cities are served frequently by AirAsia (AK) and Malaysia Airlines (MH). We took a van that cost us RM20 one way to Kuala Besut jetty from Kuala Terengganu.

The resort also owns a hostel-style lodging near to the jetty at Kuala Besut. The cost is minimal. If you arrive Kuala Besut late in the evening and could not catch the last boat to the Perhentians, you may need to stay overnight in the town and catch the very next morning boat.
